ABOUT US

Short information about the website

I built this site not just to promote our Group, but Scouting everywhere. What is Scouting, and what can it do for you? The Scout movement is an international youth organization that welcomes members from all social backgrounds, faiths and cultures, Its aim is to help young people to develop mentally, physically and spiritually. This is achieved through an attractive training programme designed to enable the young people to work with others, gain self-confidence and take a constructive place in the community. That’s the posh way of saying its for everyone who wants to enjoy themselves, whilst learning how to get on with each other. The webmaster has a long and varied history of green field camping and backwoodsmanship, in 1989 he became involved with the local Scout Group and is known locally and regionally within Scouting for his skills as a backwoods and pioneering instructor for both scouts and leaders. He is a West Lancashire Scouts survival instructor, and has appeared on television and radio on a number of occasions representing, or supporting, the award winning teams he has trained. He was also the team leader that trained a number of young people in pioneering to gain a world record by building a trebuchet with a power output of 1,240 lb.ft. In 2010 he started acorn4th backwoods and bushcraft and as part of that business He designed and developed a short one day introduction course in bushcraft for the local college, and is an instructor for them.

Something about the Adventure Pioneers

We are a youth organization for 10 to 16 year olds and older

As an independent not for profit youth organisation, we want to get young people involved in doing things in the grate outdoor. camping, pioneering, bushcraft and backwoods camping etc. and whilst doing this want to  compliment other youth groups and organizations, we are not a threat or in competition with Scouts, girl guides etc. No on the contrary all we want to do is help young people to get involved in all these outdoor activates without having to attend every week at a single destination, by doing this we could benefit those groups who encourage their members to do outdoor activities but find it difficult to organist them. Perhaps we could help you?

One of the things we can not do without in Scouting or in any youth organisation is voluntears, and in Scouting you can be just that, as a non uniformed helper just giving your time if and when you can, or you could become a uniformed helper, say an assistant to a leader in a particular section you think you are best able to help, and then later if you want to perhaps you could become a leader. Or just as important you could become a member of the comity, and help with the administrative side of the group, if you are interested then contact your nearest Group, District, County or the Scout association and ask for help, there are some contact links on this site.
